Accessing a Windows 7 file share from Archos 101 with the ES File Explorer application

This post is created as a reply to Damian, who wanted to know how to access a Windows 7 file share from the Archos 101 using the ES File Explorer application (see Damian's original comment). I thought this info might be useful to others, so I have crafted my reply to Damian as a blog post.
